Season Three - It's On Like Donkey Kong!

Hello, virtual sports fans! (And by that, I mean fans of virtual sports, not that you are virtual... although I guess you kind of are since you are reading this online. Okay, then. My head just exploded)

ANYHOO.... Season 3 is off to a great start! Sorry the update was delayed. There were some problems with emails getting stuck in spam folders and... the computer ate my homework. That's what I'm going with.

This year we have 35 people bowling. WOW! As you may have read, we are now divided into categories based on our average score: Novice, Advanced, Pro, and Kids. This week for our Novice division, high score goes to April, who bowled a personal best:

For the Advanced division, Charlotte led the pack with a killer game:

Don't get too excited, it will probably never happen again.

For the Pro division, Kate edged out Adrienne by one pin to take top honors this week:

My favorite part of this picture is the dismayed look on the face of Joe's mii.

Tom led the Kids division this week. Way to go, Tom!

Watch your email for an update which will contain the standings for your division! Upcoming blog posts will feature introductions of some new players as well as photos from a theme week. Ooooh.... can you feel the excitement building?

WE HAVE A WINNER!

Ladies and gentlemen.... the winner of the second Spare Mii Cup (Adults Division) is.... KATE! Congratulations, Kate!! (For those who bowled last year, this is not the same Kate who won last year, but isn't it odd that we have had two champions and they were both named Kate? I'm thinking of changing my name!)

Kate defeated her husband Adam by a score of 226 to 200. Hopefully they are still happily married. :-) Great job, Adam. You really came on strong for the tournament and have lots to be proud of.

Thanks to all who participated this season. It's been lots of fun!

And Then There Was One

Attention, bowling fans - we have a winner!! The Kids Bracket is complete, and our winner is.... TOM! While JD dominated throughout the regular bowling season, the finals weren't kind to him, and Tom carries off the honors. Congrats, Tom! Your trophy will be in the mail within the next month.

In the Adults Bracket, Adrienne (our other front-runner) was also eliminated from the tournament. In the other game, we are sad to say goodbye to Jessica. Great job, ladies! Husband and wife Adam and Kate will go head to head in the finals to see who will be this season's Spare Mii Cup champ. Check in next week to see who prevails!

Tournament Time

Well, the tournament is really humming along now! This week in the Kids Bracket, we had to say goodbye to Abby and Sarah - two great bowlers who were ousted by their brothers. The finals in this bracket will be held between JD and Tom this week. May the best boy win!

The semifinals for the Adults Bracket will be held this week. Adrienne continues her streak of great bowling, defeating Charlotte by over 80 pins. She will go on to face Kate, who seems to be improving each week. This should be a great matchup! Also competing this week will be Adam, who took out Amber with a score of 257. He will be bowling against Jessica, who defeated Sibyl by only 26 pins. Close one!

Thanks to everyone who continues to check out the blog. Come by next week to see who wins the Kids Bracket, and who will be bowling in the finals of the Adults Bracket. Have a great week!

March Madness

The NCAA hoops tournament isn't the only one that's heating up! The first week of our tournament is forcing us to say goodbye to some fierce competitors. In the Adults Division, we bid adieu to Tonia, Carter, Hollie, Jeff, Andrew, Brandy, Angela and Sherri. Thanks so much for participating, everyone!

Tonia fell victim to another perfect game bowled by Adrienne, and Sherri lost our first in-home battle to daughter Amber. Charlotte pulled out a squeaker over Carter, while Sue advanced over Jeff who had to take a DQ due to illness. Sibyl poured on the heat at the right moment to take out a tough opponent in Andrew, while his wife Jessica advances with a win over Brandy. Kate and Adam both bowled some of their best games of the season to advance over Hollie and Angela.

In the Kids Division, we must say goodbye to Dean, Rachel and Noah. You all did a GREAT job and I hope that you had lots of fun!

JD had a bye, but bowled an impressive 205 anyway. Abby advances due to an illness-related DQ of Dean. Tom continued his consistent bowling and posted a win over Rachel, while Sarah bowled a respectable 164 to advance over Noah. The Kids Tourney promises to be exciting this week with two sibling rivalries taking place in the semi-finals. JD and Abby will go head to head, as will Sarah and Tom.

Tune in next week to see who will triumph and who will exit our tournament!

Tourney Time

This week will mark the first round of the tournament. In the Adult Division, we have some tough matchups. Tonia will try to play the part of the dragon slayer as she takes on Adrienne, while Sherri and Amber are locked in an in-house matchup.

In the Kid Division, JD receives a bye. Abby and Dean were only a point apart in average, so their matchup should be a tough one.

Good luck to everyone!

Week 6

Our final week of regular season bowling has sadly come and gone. It was Spring Break week, and some people really got into the spirit...

Jessica, Sue and Adrienne were all ready to hit the islands:

Rachel and Abby were in the mood for some pool time:

In our one-game playoffs to make the tournament, Angela defeated Butch, Sibyl and April tied - with Sibyl entering the tournament due to a higher average, and Tonia defeated Bo. Good luck in the tournament, guys! And a fond farewell to Butch, April and Bo. Thanks so much for participating!

A big CONGRATULATIONS to our regular season winners: Adrienne for the Adult Division with a 268 average, , and JD for the Kid Division with a 206 average. Great bowling! Stay tuned for the tournament.
